MontessoriPublic—Print Edition
Volume 2 Number 3: Teacher Training
The Spring issue of MontessoriPublic—Print Edition is out! You can read it online here, and subscribe to a printed copy here. New with this issue: PDFs of individual articles now available for download on the Current Issue page. Feel free to share with attribution or link back to MontessoriPublic.
We mail multiple copies to public Montessori schools, one for each teacher, based on their listing in the Montessori Census, so check to make sure your school is listed and up to date.
This issue focuses on Montessori teacher training, and features work from Genevieve D’Cruz of Lee Montessori Public Charter School, an update on teacher credential recognition from Denise Monnier, Director of State Advocacy for the Montessori Public Policy Institute, and the NCMPS model of teacher residency.
The fall issue will take on literacy: How do we support reading and writing in a Montessori environment? Are adaptations and extensions of Montessori needed, or is full implementation the answer? We’re always looking for well-considered, interesting treatments of this subject or any other public Montessori topic.Contact David Ayer at [email protected]. The deadline for the fall issue is August 31.
David worked in private Montessori for more than twenty years as a parent, three-to-six year-old and adolescent teacher, administrator, writer, speaker, and advocate. In 2016 he began working with the National Center for Montessori in the Public Sector. David lives in Portland, Oregon.
