1/28/2021 • Texas • In Dallas, TX, demand for public Montessori is 3 times the available slots, prompting the opening of a new dual language Montessori Program, according to People Newspapers.

Dallas ISD already boasts five Prek-5th grade Montessori programs (George Bannerman Dealey Montessori Academy, Downtown Montessori at Ida B. Wells Academy, Eduardo Mata Montessori School, Montessori Academy at Onesimo Hernandez, and Harry Stone Montessori Academy), in addition to the 40+-year-old Lumin Education but parents want more! About 2,500 applications were submitted for the approximately 700 seats last year, prompting the district to open a new dual language program starting Fall 2021. The new program, housed at E.D. Walker Middle School, will provide students instruction in English and Spanish starting with Prek-2nd grade and adding a grade level each year.
